Theme
This year’s Made to Move Communities challenge will explore how we can leverage AI-driven solutions to advance inclusive mobility – giving more people freedom to connect and thrive in a taller, faster, smarter world.
New AI capabilities are emerging at a rapid, unprecedented pace.
AI is transforming nearly every industry, including transportation, optimizing the way we move people and goods in and around cities.
By 2070, nearly 60% of the world will live in cities, creating an urgent need to prioritise inclusion within urban development.
What exactly does inclusive mobility mean?Â
For Otis, inclusive mobility refers to the idea that everyone should have access to mobility, which can exist in the physical environment, such as access to public transportation, or in the technological space, like the ability to use a touch-screen tablet.
Effective mobility solutions enhance our connectivity and productivity, education, employment, medical care and social services. When our local communities practice inclusive mobility, it becomes more equitable for us all.Â
Notes on the Application
- The winning NSW school team will be selected by an Otis panel to compete in the Asia Pacific challenge where, over eight weeks, your school's team will explore STEM concepts and solutions in a research project guided by Otis mentors virtually or in-person.
- At the end of the Asia Pacific competition, the NSW winning school team will present their ideas to a panel of Otis executives for a chance to win grant funding to further STEM learning at your school. Prizes will be awarded for 1st place, 2nd place and Honorable Mention within your region.
- Awards will be presented to the teams that achieve outstanding results in the Asia Pacific competition. The teams will receive a $7,500 USD grant to invest in STEM learning at their school through participation in the competition, with potential to receive up to $20,000 USD in total, provided the team wins the Asia-Pacific regional challenge.
