DESIGN THINKING SKILLS FOR THE CLASSROOM 

This course is fantastic for anyone undertaking PBL, STEAM or STEM projects in the Primary classroom. The strategies and tips delivered during this course will empower teachers to successfully lead their learners through the design thinking process.  Participants will:

• Explore how design thinking is represented in the syllabus and why it is essential for STEAM innovation.

• Get creative! Learn the basic shapes for authentic design to boost your students confidence and improve their visual spatial communication skills

• Learn about storyboarding to communicate design thinking concepts

• Design a product to solve a real world problem

KYLIE BURRETT & GLENN LAWRENCE

Together, as Design Nuts, Glenn Lawrence and Kylie Burrett are creative and knowledgeable educators who are on a mission to help teachers and students develop authentic design and innovation skills.  Professionally, Glenn (Industrial Designer) and Kylie (Information Specialist) both work in industry and as classroom teachers. Their real world experiences and passion for product design combined with their love of education means they can offer you first hand insights and helpful tips to develop your students capacity for creative design and engineering.
