International Pilot – Virtual STEM Academy

The Australia New Zealand STEM Education Alliance (ANZSEA), Virtual STEM Academy International Pilot will continue in 2021, starting on 3rd March. Five Year 7 students from Murrumbidgee Regional High School will join with 15 other students from Queensland, Northern Territory and New Zealand to undertake a STEM Grand Challenge course being delivered by Ms Wendy Bode from the Queensland Virtual STEM Academy.

The five MRHS students are Kurt Roberts, Emma King, Fletcher Robertson, Emerson Brown and James McCloskey. These students successfully completed a Skills Builder course in 2020 whilst attending their local primary school.

The 2021 Grand Challenge will be focused on Cyber Security and Smart Cities and has been developed in conjunction with IBM Australia. During the course students will receive several keynote addresses from experts who work in the Cyber Security field as well as be mentored by PhD students from various universities.
