F1 in Schools National Finals New

The SISP program wishes to congratulate 'Culturally' for their stellar performance at the F1 in Schools national finals last week. This group of Aboriginal girls from Cessnock High School competed against schools from all over Australia. They are to be congratulated on their amazing efforts and results during the week.

🏆3rd Place - Professional Junior Class
🏆4th Place - Knock-Out Racing
🏆Outstanding Industry Collaboration Award

The F1 in Schools program was established at the school as part of the Cessnock Academy of STEM Excellence (CASE) which is part of the NSW Department of Education's STEM Industry School Partnerships (SISP) program. The SISP program is a platinum sponsor of the Culturally team as part of its focus on diversity in STEM.

A massive thank you to SISP industry partners Boeing Defence Australia. They have been mentoring students at Cessnock High for the past two years not only developing the skills of the student but that of the teachers. In a very short period of time, this has led to Culturally winning the coveted 'Outstanding Industry Collaboration' perpetual trophy at this year's competition on top of them winning major awards at last years National finals.

What an amazing effort for a group of proud Aboriginal girls from a small regional school in the Hunter Valley to be not only competing in one of the worlds largest STEM competitions but winning major National awards.

A special mention to the teachers and support staff from Cessnock High, Holly, Eliza and Kristen who along with the team are showing how women in STEM are excelling.
